1430 Wrestling – men’s – 44-48kg – medal bouts

  • Zander O’Meara lost a hard fought contest in the bronze medal match. Zander finishes in 4th place overall in his weight division.

1520 Wrestling – women’s – -59kg/-65kg – medal bouts

  • Alexsa Matheson wins PEI’s first medal of week 2, a bronze in the -59kg division. Alexsa battled with her opponent, eventually tripping her and pinning her to the mat for the victory. After the match, Alexsa embraced her coaches Gary McQuaid and Savannah Brown.
  • Keely MacGrath lost a tough encounter with a decorated Canadian wrestler. Keely earned the silver medal for great performances throughout the competition, defeating athletes from Ontario, New Brunswick and others. Keely was coached by Matt MacGrath, her dad, and Bradshaw Campbell, her godfather. Both were incredibly proud of the accomplishment.
