DAY 5 DAILY SPORT HIGHLIGHTS 

08:00 Tennis – 7th/8th place game – PE vs MB

  • Team PEI secures 7th place after a 4-3 win against Team MB. This is Team PEI’s best finish in Tennis at a Canada Games.

08:30 Basketball – women’s – 7th/8th place game – PE vs NB

  • Team PEI Women’s Basketball finishes the week strong with a big win against Team NB. With a final score of 75-56, the team finishes 7th place overall. Lexie Singleton led the game with 22 points.

11:00 Beach Volleyball – women’s – 9th/10th place game – PE vs NL

  • Both PEI Beach Volleyball Teams had their final game of competition today. The women’s team battled hard taking NL to 3 games, but just fell short of the win. The Men had two close games but were able to over power NS 2-0. The Women’s Team end with a 10th place finish and the Men’s Team in 7th place.

11:00 Sailing

  • Single Handed ILCA – Men’s – Final
    • Ellis Starkes finishes with 68 points in the Men’s Single Handed ILCA Sailing, placing 7th overall.
  • Single Handed ILCA – Women’s – Final
    • Nadia Carr finishes with 47 points in the Women’s Single Handed ILCA, placing 6th overall.
  • Double Handed 29er – Men’s – Final
    • Finished 8th overall.

12:40 – Beach Volleyball – men’s – 7th/8th – PE vs NS

  • Both PEI Beach Volleyball Teams had their final game of competition today. The women’s team battled hard taking NL to 3 games, but just fell short of the win. 15:00 –  Baseball – bronze medal game – PE vs SK

  • Team PEI Men’s Baseball team finished in fourth place at the 2025 Canada Summer Games, following a close 4-2 loss to Team Saskatchewan in the Bronze Medal match on Saturday at St. Pat’s Ballpark in St. John’s, NL. Team PEI
  • Team PEI jumped into a quick start with two runs in the first inning. Team Saskatchewan scores two to tie it up in the second inning, and then two more runs in the third to go ahead 4-2. At the top of the second, with a runner on first, a hard hit ball that looked like it was going to the outfield was caught by the first baseman and the runner at first was out on the double play.

17:00 Cycling – Road Cycling Criterium – Men’s – Finals

  • After initial mechanical difficulties on the first lap, Calum Lea was able to stay within the race and finished with the lead group with a 13th overall. There was a solo break rider from Quebec that was about a minute ahead of the main group. Calum positioned himself very well throughout the race and was competing with the group. Kyle Garro finished 35th overall.
