Team PEI Men’s Baseball advances to Bronze Medal game at 2025 Canada Games

August 16, 2025

Team PEI Men’s Baseball team is set to compete for the Bronze Medal at the 2025 Canada Summer Games, following a 7-0 semi-final defeat to Team British Columbia on Friday evening at St. Pat’s Ballpark in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador.

The Bronze Medal game will be 2:30 PM Atlantic Time on Saturday at St. Pat’s Ballpark against Saskatchewan. The game will be streamed on CBC Gem as well as the Canada Games website.

“We are looking forward to the opportunity to play in the bronze medal game against Saskatchewan,” said Bob Doyle, Team PEI Men’s Baseball Head Coach. “We’ve regrouped as a team after a tough semifinal loss, refocused, and have the confidence in our preparation and our players going into a medal game at Canada Games.”

Team PEI Baseball has never previously medaled in baseball at a Canada Games; PEI’s only medal in a team sport at Summer Games came in 1993 with men’s softball earning bronze.

To get to the semi-finals, PEI defeated Team BC in Wednesday’s qualification round by a score of 3-1 after earning the top spot in Pool B with a 4-0 record in round robin play.
